Looking at illustrations by Maira Kalman the other day made me want to use some bright colors in my own drawings, so here is an attempt.

These patterns looked fairly simple to draw, but they became much more time consuming than I imagined. Then the scanner did not pick up the colors as well as I had hoped. Sometimes that's just the way things go.

I'm not even half way through this project yet. I really will have to ramp up my efforts to finish in time!
